Cervical Disc Arthroplasty

Cervical Disc Arthroplasty is a new minimally invasive treatment for Wobbler Syndrome, a disorder that affects mainly large-breed dogs where the discs degenerate and cause compression on the spinal cord. The procedure involves inserting artificial titanium discs to serve as a cushion for the vertebrae and take the pressure off the spinal cord. Recovery from the procedure is usually fairly quick and the patient is typically discharged the next day with marked improvement in motor function.
