Our experts in veterinary internal medicine are focused on the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of complex disease processes involving the internal organs of the body. They are highly skilled at non-invasive diagnostics including ultrasound, endoscopy, needle biopsies and centeses.
A referral to one of our board certified internists will begin with the doctor obtaining a thorough history of your pet both from you and your primary veterinarian. During the entire process the internist will work closely with you, so that you are both able to make the best decisions for the treatment of your pet. For complex illnesses, it is likely that follow-up appointments will be required to recheck blood work or other diagnostics to ensure the ongoing success of the treatment.
