Internal Medicine Diagnostics
Ultrasound
An ultrasound or sonogram gives us the ability to view the internal organs in real time. In many cases, an ultrasound prevents the need for a surgical explore as we are able to see abnormalities with the organs, blood flow, and blockages in the gastrointestinal tract.
Endoscopy
An endoscopy is a diagnostic procedure in which an endoscope is passed into the body to view internal tissue, take videos and pictures, and acquire biopsies and cytologies. There are a few types of endoscopic procedures:
- Gastroduodenoscopy
- Colonoscopy
- Gastroduodenocolonoscopy
- Rhinoscopy
- Bronchoscopy
- Foreign Body Retrieval
Fine Needle Aspirates
Fine needle aspirates are a relatively non-invasive sampling procedure that we perform to get tissue samples from different organs and other areas of the body.
